AHELEE RAHMAN

'Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high. Where knowledge is free..'

- Rabindranath Tagore

I'm a 14 year old, Year 10 student. I'm really passionate about youth voice and philanthropy (particularly in terms of creating social change).

I represent my school by working with the Victorian Student Representative Council creating opportunities for student voice.  In 2019, I was on the steering committee of the International Conference on Student Voice, Agency and Participation at Melbourne University.

In 2019, I delivered a speech on societal inclusion and  discrimination at the Global Social Leaders World Summit in the UK.  I also work with the Pretty Foundation and I had the privilege of being keynote speaker at their 2019 International Women's Day Celebration.

I work with Amnesty International on their youth advocacy and advisory programs and am volunteering in their Women's Rights division.

I'm an advocate/ambassador for Happow Australia and I also write a blog to share my opinions and perspectives on various social issues called 'Mind Without Fear'.

While I have a passion for social change and creating awareness around social issues, my hobbies are public speaking and debating and I've been lucky enough to debate twice on the ABC Radio Breakfast Show.  I was awarded 2nd place in the State Finals of the UN Youth Voice competition.
