We at Spill The Beans Pty Ltd and the Australian School of Entrepreneurship Pty Ltd (“Spill The Beans”, “Australian School of Entrepreneurship”, “ASE”, “we”, “our” and “us”) are committed to the privacy of your personal information.

Your trust is fundamental to us and we respectfully and carefully manage your privacy by being committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“Privacy Act”) and other applicable laws, such as the Spam Act 2007 (Cth) (“Privacy Laws”).

This privacy policy describes and explains the types of information we collect from you when you register for the Bean Awards 2020, (“Awards”). This privacy policy applies to all registrants, participants and other users. This policy also explains how we may process, transfer, store and disclose your personal information, as well as your ability to control certain uses of the collected information. The policy also identifies ensuring the security of your information under applicable Privacy Laws.

“Personal information” means any information that refers, is related to, or is associated with an identified or identifiable individual or as otherwise may be defined by applicable law.


INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The personal information that we collect from you is when you chose to use our services, when you participate or register for the Awards, enquire or request information from us, complete online forms or contact us for any other reason.

In order to take part in the Awards you will be required to register and provide us with certain personal information. It is your voluntary decision whether to provide us with any such personal information, but if you refuse to provide such information we may not be able to register you and/or provide you with our services nor will you be eligible for being selected as an Awards winner.

Examples of the personal information that we collect from you may include your first name, location, Awards submission subject to your consent as may be required under applicable law, location data, e-mail address. We also collect any materials including images and/or pictures and/or photos and/or documents you may send to us.

PURPOSE OF THE COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The primary reason we collect, process, transfer, store and disclose your personal information is to provide you with the products and services relating to Spill The Beans, the Australian School of Entrepreneurship and the Bean Awards 2020. We also collect information from you

  • to respond to your inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests;
  • to communicate, contact and/or provide you with relevant information regarding the
    Awards;
  • to help us manage the product or service and/or develop new products or services;
  • to conduct analysis to develop insights into the improvement of our current content,
    products, services, communication and delivery;
  • to review the usage and operations of the Awards;
  • to prevent fraud, protect the security of the Awards and address any problems with the
    Awards;
  • to respond to your inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests;
  • to provide you with customer support.


DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may share your personal information with companies, individuals and organisations within and outside of our companies to help deliver or support the Award services being provided to you. To ensure the protection of your personal information, outside providers, business partners, affiliates, subcontractors, will be subject to written agreements ensuring the same level of privacy and data protection as set forth in this privacy policy.

When a participant or registrant participates in the Awards, we will share certain information related to such participant and/or registration with Spill The Beans and ASE Staff on whose behalf such information was collected. Spill The Beans and ASE Staff are the employees who deliver the Awards.

We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity, behaviour or information of or related to an individual, including in the event of any participant suspected to have engaged in illegal or infringing behaviour. We may also share your information with third parties:

  • if we believe in good faith that disclosure is appropriate to protect our rights, property or safety;
  • you have expressed consent to the disclosure of information;
  • when required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order or other law enforcement related
    issues; or
  • as is necessary to comply with any legal and/or regulatory obligation.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We prioritise and follow all accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. A majority of the information collected will be stored electronically and stored in secure data centres. All other information is stored in paper files.

Unfortunately, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, we strive to have the best commercially accepted procedures and methods implemented for data security. Keeping your personal information secure and private is paramount to us and we have implemented security measures. Examples of some measures:

  • Our systems are controlled through identity and access management controls.
  • All employees and associates of the company are bounded by security policies requiring
    the securement of information privacy.
  • Access to all privacy information is strictly limited to key individuals in the delivery of the
    Awards and prohibits non-authorised personnel access.
  • Regular updates and monitoring of the data centres where the information is being
    stored.


ACCESS, CORRECTION AND LIMITING PERSONAL INFORMATION

You have certain rights in relation the personal information that we hold about you, as detailed below. For any requests to exercise such rights, please contact us directly. We reserve the right to ask for reasonable evidence to verify your identity before we provide you with any information. Exceptions exist for you being able to access information stored about you under Privacy Laws, especially when the information you are trying to access would pose a serious threat to any person’s life, health or safety, or to public health or safety, where giving access would be unlawful. If access to your information is refused by us, we will provide you with documentation explicitly explaining our reasons - unless unreasonable for us to do.

CHILDREN INFORMATION

In the event that you become aware that an individual under the age of eighteen (18) has enrolled without parental permission, please advise us immediately. If incorrect information has been entered into the Awards Registration please contact Spill The Beans immediately for amendment.

Important Dates 

All entries must be submitted by no later than 7.00pm AEST on Thursday 19 November 2020.  Winners will be announced by email and awards will be presented during a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday 10 December 2020.

Conditions of Entry
  • The prize for each story category is A$1,000 and is not transferrable.
  • You must agree the Terms & Conditions.
  • You must read the Privacy Policy here.
  • Only one (1) entry per person will be accepted.
  • The video must be no more  than 5 minutes in length. 
  • Entrants must be 17 years of age or under.
  • Speeches will be judged by a panel appointed by Spill the Beans and will be judged based on compelling inspirational content.
